Flu knocks Lang out of game
Dec 27, 2006
The Red Wings held off the Minnesota Wild, 3-1, Wednesday night despite playing with 11 forwards for the final two periods.
Robert Lang played 6:05 in the first period, including 3:11 on the power play, but didn't return for the final two periods becuase he had the flu. Wings coach Mike Babcock said after the game he didn't expect Lang to miss Thursday's game at Columbus, though.
"All he had was the flu," Babcock said. "He tried to go. He couldn't -- basically said he couldn't move. So, we put him on IV here and he'll be fine and ready to go tomorrow."
